She passed away on Friday, January 15, 2016 at St. Joseph’s Rehabilitation and Care Center in Norfolk. Neoma LaRene was born on January 11, 1925, the daughter of Earl and Lillie (Davison) Halsey. She was raised on the family farm and attended school in Meadow Grove and Tilden. On December 16, 1943, Neoma married Kenneth Wayne Ritter in Neligh, Nebraska. The family lived on a farm northwest of Tilden, and then in 1961 they moved to Norfolk. Neoma worked at the Regional Center and Dudley’s Cleaners. Later on, she worked as a waitress at the Lazy L Cafeteria and as a seamstress. Neoma is survived by her daughters Carol Bauermeister of Wayne, and Bonnie Koehler of Battle Creek, six grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, nine great-great grandchildren, sisters Bernadine Redvelski of Albuquerque, NM, Jacquelene Forbes of Brunswick, NE, and Patty Weinrich of Creighton, NE. She was preceded in death by her husband, twin infant sons, three granddaughters, two great-great grandchildren, parents, two brothers and one sister.
