Nettie was born September 2, 1918 at rural Dover, Kansas to Clarence and Tressie Miles Lister. She attended schools in Dover, Kansas. She married Virgil A. Bigham on October 29, 1937 in Topeka, Kansas. They moved to Milford, Kansas in 1950. She worked at the Milford Schools in food service and at the Sanitarium in Milford. She also worked as a sales clerk at J.C. Penney's, Montgomery Wards, and Marvin's Gardens. She was preceded in death by her husband Virgil in 1999. She had been a resident at Village Manor in Abilene, Kansas for three years. She loved her flowers, plants, and doing handiwork and sewing. She was a member of the Abilene Christian Women. She is survived by one daughter, Sharon (Kay) Schmidt and her husband Merle of Abilene, Kansas, one son Larry Bigham and his wife Jan of Meriden, Kansas; six grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one sister Estella Mae Diehl of Fresno, California. She was preceded in death by her husband Virgil, one son Kenneth, one grandson Dan Schmidt, two sisters and two brothers. Funeral services will be held at the Londeen Funeral Chapel in Chapman, Kansas on Tuesday, June 7, 2016 at 11:30 A.M. Pastor Lindsey Brummer will officiate. Burial will be at the Milford Cemetery at Milford, Kansas at 3:00 P.M. Tuesday afternoon. The family will receive friends at the Londeen Funeral Chapel Monday evening, June 6, 2016 from 6:00 P.M. till 8:00 P.M. The Londeen Funeral Chapel will be open for visitation beginning at 1:00 P.M.
