Description	:	Hosmer - Funeral services for Neva Kirschenmann, 79, formerly of Ipswich, will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Roscoe with Rev. Winfried Schroeder officiating. Neva Eileen Beyers was born Oct. 17, 1925, to Albert and Marie (Schurr) Beyers southeast of Roscoe. She was raised on the family farm. She attended country school and then graduated from Ipswich High School. She then attended Northern Normal in Aberdeen and later in her career she attained a Bachelor of Science degree from Northern State College. She started her 34-year teaching career in country schools in 1943. She married Helmuth Kirschenmann on July 31, 1949, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Roscoe. They lived on several farms southeast of Roscoe before moving to their farm northwest of Ipswich in 1957. Neva continued her career in education. Over the years, she taught elementary school in country schools in eight different townships and at Plainview and Pembrook Colonies. Failing health forced her retirement from teaching in 1979, and she has lived in various nursing homes since then. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Roscoe and was a 4-H leader. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, watching Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune and playing hand and foot. Neva died Saturday, Feb. 19, 2005, at the Hosmer Senior Citizens Home in Hosmer, S.D. Thankful for having shared in her life are her husband, Helmuth of Ipswich; two daughters, Bonnie (Clemens, Jr.) Geier and Sally (James) Telford, both of Rapid City, S.D.; two brothers, Ernest Beyers and Raymond (Ruth) Beyers, both of Roscoe, S.D.; one sister, Helen Downer of Roscoe; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Neva's parents preceded her in death. Casketbearers will be her grandchildren, Steven Geier, Craig Geier, Troy Geier, Stacy Anderson, Amy Telford, Adam Telford and Aaron Telford.
