Oldest daughter of Edward and Ella Johnson was born in Deep River, Ia., on November 1, 1901, and after an illness of many months duration she quietly and peacefully passed away in the early morning hours of September 20, 1941 She was preceded in death by her father and brother Ray. Oldest daughter of Edward and Ella Johnson was born in Deep River, Ia., on November 1, 1901, and after an illness of many months duration she quietly and peacefully passed away in the early morning hours of September 20, 1941 She was preceded in death by her father and brother Ray. On May 1, 1919 she was united in marriage to Grant Wherry, and for 22 years they have walked the pathway of life together. Mrs. Wherry has been a member of the Presbyterian Church since early girlhood and has always lived a true Christian life, the memory of which will remain in the hearts of all who knew her. Her heart and home were never too crowed to be of service to some who were less fortunate, and during her last illness no sacrifice was too great for her loved ones. Her death comes as a great shock to all who knew her and hopes of her having many more years of happiness and usefulness. To this union two children were born. Pauline Galbraith of Keswick and Merrill at home, who will miss the love and tender care that only a mother can give. Besides her husband and two children, she leaves two grandchildren, Sharon Lucille and Betty Jo Galbraith of Keswick, a devoted mother and uncle Joe, and one brother Virgil of Deep River, three sisters, Cleo Cronacher of Clinton, Ia., Mary McClasky of Lawton, Ohio, and Jennie Dearinger of Lynnville, Ia., and a host of other relatives and friends who mourn her passing. Funeral service was held Monday afternoon at Presbyterian Church with Rev. James McIinis officiating. Burial in Golden Rod Cemetery. "THE WATCHER"from the obituary."She always leaned to watch for us, Anxious if were late, In winter by the window, In summer by the gate; And though we mocked her tenderly, Who had such foolish care, The long way home would seem more safe, Because she waited there, Her thoughs were all so full of us, She never could forget! And so I think that where she is, She must be watching yet. Waiting till be come home to her, Anxious if we are late--Watching from Heaven's window, Leaning from Heaven's Gate."
