Description	:	Neva M. Zachow, 80, a well-known resident of the Leavenworth area for the past 78 years, died Monday morning, June 29, 1998, at her home. She was born Neva M. Skelton on May 25, 1918, to Harvey and Veva (Bradley) Skelton at Rockcut, Wash. When a young child, she moved with her family to the Camp 12 area near Leavenworth, and in 1922 the family moved to Leavenworth, where Neva grew up and received her education, graduating from Leavenworth High School in 1936. Zachow, 80, a well-known resident of the Leavenworth area for the past 78 years, died Monday morning, June 29, 1998, at her home. She was born Neva M. Skelton on May 25, 1918, to Harvey and Veva (Bradley) Skelton at Rockcut, Wash. When a young child, she moved with her family to the Camp 12 area near Leavenworth, and in 1922 the family moved to Leavenworth, where Neva grew up and received her education, graduating from Leavenworth High School in 1936. On May 27, 1939, she married Glenn Zachow at Wenatchee, and they made their home in Leavenworth. During fruit harvest, Neva worked for the Leavenworth Fruit Co., Dryden Independent Warehouse and later Hi-Up Growers in Peshastin for several years. While raising her daughter and son, she was involved as Camp Fire leader and Cub Scout den leader. In later years, Neva enjoyed gardening; she loved to make floral arrangements and many were exhibited at the fair; for several years she also served as a judge for the hobbies/crafts division at the fair. She was a very talented lady, doing quilting, cross stitching and knitting as well as other crafts. Neva was honored to serve as Royal Lady of the Autumn Leaves for 1975. She was a member of the Leavenworth Community United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, Cascade Garden Club, Hilfreiche Hausfrauen hospital guild and the past Royal Ladies. Neva is survived by her husband, Glenn, of the family home; daughter and husband Sally and Kenneth Hildebrand of Enumclaw; son and wife Richard and Kathy Zachow of Prineville, Ore.; three grandchildren, Jana Waterman, Ericka Hildebrand and Gavin Hildebrand; one great-grandson, Blake Hildebrand; one sister, Deloris Knowles, and one brother, Jack Skelton, both of Leavenworth. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and one sister. Ward's Funeral Chapel, Leavenworth, is in charge of the arrangements.
