Funeral services for Neva Nerge (Mother of Judy Lewey) and Bob Lewey (Husband of Judy Lewey) will be held at 10:30 AM, Tuesday, March 29, 2022, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Sumner with Rev. Memorials may be made to the family for later designation. Neva Matilda, daughter of Floyd and Berniece (Robb) Friedley was born February 25, 1928, in Black Hawk County, Iowa. She was baptized in the Baptist Faith and confirmed at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Sumner. Neva graduated from La Porte City High School. On September 5, 1948, she was united in marriage with Melvin Nerge at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Sumner with Rev. Nagler presiding. In addition to assisting her husband on the Nerge Family Farm, Neva worked at the Fredericksburg Nursing Home for thirty years. She was a long time member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church. Neva enjoyed putting puzzles together, word-puzzles, and fishing, but her greatest joy was time spent with her family. Neva is survived by her daughter, Judy Lewey of Sumner; many nieces, nephews, and extended loving family and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin on December 16, 1989; daughter, Shirley Ann in infancy; siblings, Madeline, Paul, Alan, Corrine, Netha, Marjorie, and Don; and son-in-law, Bob Lewey on March 22, 2022.
