Coder 85, who died Saturday evening were held Monday afternoon at the home, conducted by the Rev. C. O. Winters. The pallbearers were Bert and Quince Coder, Horace McCormac, Bert Synider, Dewey Toland and Ray Paine. Burial was in the Letts cemetery. Newton G. Coder 85, who died Saturday evening were held Monday afternoon at the home, conducted by the Rev. C. O. Winters. The pallbearers were Bert and Quince Coder, Horace McCormac, Bert Synider, Dewey Toland and Ray Paine. Burial was in the Letts cemetery. Newton G. Coder son of James and Brunetta Keene Coder was born in Ross Co., Ohio, near Bambridge, October 25th 1847 and passed away at his home in Letts, Ia., Aug. 25th. Mr. Coder came to Iowa with his parents in October 1864 settling in Cedar township Muscatine county and later moved to Louisa county, where he has since resided. On December 12th 1872 he was married to Mary A. Charles who preceded him in death in August 1929. He was one of a family of 10 children, and only two survive, Frank of Omaha, Neb., and Lemuel G. of near Muscatine. Those who died were John, Thomas, Charles, Mrs. Allie Vanhorn, Mrs. Sarah Idle, Mrs. Jane Rhodes and Hannah in infancy. Surviving besides the brothers are two sons, J. Quince and Bert of Lakota, Iowa, three daughters, Mrs. Horace McCormac and Mrs. Garth Morgan of Cedar Rapids and Miss Nellie at home, and four grandchildren, Donald and Norman McCormac and Don and Gertrude Morgan all of Cedar Rapids. Mr. Coder was one of the oldest members of the Letts Methodist Episcopal church and was the oldest male resident of Letts. Relatives and friends who attended from a distance were, Mr. and Mrs. Horace McCormac and son Donald and Mr. and Mrs. Garth Morgan and son Don of Cedar Rapids, J. Quince and Bert Coder of Lakota, Ia., Mr. and Mrs. L. G. Coder, Mr. and Mrs. B. F. Synider, Mr. and Mrs. John Kammerer and daughter, Mrs. Harry Othmer, Mr. and Mrs. M. L. Shellabarger and daughter, Dorothy and Grat Dalton of Muscatine, Clinton Coder of Iowa City, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Howell of Columbus Junction, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Beik and daughter and Harve McGill of Grandview, Mrs. Opal Amos and children of Crawfordsville, Mr. and Mrs. Chet Coder of Cranston and the Rev. F.
