Bracy, son of John C. and Lydia Hulse Bracy, was born at Brooklyn, Iowa, on August 15th, 1882 and passed away at the Corn Belt Hospital In Belle Plaine, Iowa, on Monday, September 11th, 1939 at 7:20 o'clock. He was aged 57 years and 26 days at the time of his death. For the past thirty years Mr. Bracy had been a resident of this city and for a number of years followed his trade of plumber. He was aged 57 years and 26 days at the time of his death. For the past thirty years Mr. Bracy had been a resident of this city and for a number of years followed his trade of plumber. He worked for the Palmer Bros. Foundry until recent years. He was married at Vinton, Iowa, on November 17, 1920 to Mrs. Bessie Zerbee and they were the parents of three children, namely, Mrs. Walter Ryan, and Kenneth and Robert, all of Belle Plaine. He served on the Volunteer Fire department of this city for two terms and was an exempt City Fireman at the time of his death. Besides his aged parents of this city and the widow and children above named there are surviving him two step daughters. Mrs. Herschel Van Diver and Mrs. Charles Fox of Belle Plaine and a step son, Glen Zerbee of Des Moines, his one sister, Mrs. Fred Hawk and one brother, Henry Bracy, both of Rosehill, Iowa; There are also several nieces and nephews surviving. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at Hrabak's funeral home at 2:30 o'clock conducted by Rev. J. Irvine Walker of the Congregational church. There was a large gathering of friends and relatives present and city officials attended in a body. The pallbearers were chosen from the exempt city firemen and were E. A. Palmer Jr, E. G. Byers, Sam Harris, Joe Pokorny, M. M. Bailey and Anton Dupiva. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery. Contributor: George (48419540) • [email protected]
