Description	:	Captain N. B. Warner. On Sunday evening, June 15, 1919, Capt. Warner passed from the earth mid its tolling, having lived to a good old age. He was born in Montgomery County, Ohio, Oct. 21, 1826. At 21 years of age he united with the Methodist Episcopal church, in South Bend, Ind. In 1848 he married Eliza J. Garwood and 3 years later moved to Missouri, locating near Laporte, Macon County, where they lived for 50 years. Garwood and 3 years later moved to Missouri, locating near Laporte, Macon County, where they lived for 50 years. Gresham (at whose home the Capt. lived during his last days), Chas. W. Warner, Mrs. E. I. Hagan, Frank W. Warner, of Oklahoma, J. E. Warner, of Ten Mile, A. M. Warner, of Oklahoma. Capt. Warner has left to posterity 11 great grandchildren. The pioneer days of homesteading at Laporte, the building of the log cabin, the welcoming of the Methodist Circuit rider on his rounds, the making room for the preacher in a small cabin with a large family, the building of the First Methodist church in those parts, the supporting of the moral and religious work of that community in days when homesteaders needed every dollar to establish for themselves a living, the continued interest taken in all civil and moral improvements right up to the time of his death, the peering through the veil and delighting to discuss the problems that had to do with the life beyond, all testify to the fact of Capt. Warner having lived a strong and true Christian life, and that in his passing, it might be said of him: "He made unto himself, friends who will receive him into the eternal hibitation." The funeral took place Tuesday, June 17, at 2 p.m. from the residence of Mrs. Grisham, conducted by the Rev. Everett Fray, pastor of the First Methodist church, of which deceased was a member. Many friends accompanied the remains from Macon to the Maplewood cemetery at Clarence, the place of interment. To all the friends who so kindly manifested their sympathy in this sad hour, and to those who assisted in any way in the funeral, the family desire to express their deep gratitude and sincere appreciation.
