He was born March 19, 1899 at Bristol, the son of Anton and Gertrude Bierschbach, and moved with them as a small child to Webster. He attended schools and was employed by Wist's Produce in Webster until opening another branch of that firm in Britton in 1924. He married Thelma Lewis, July 12. 1926. at Britton. In 1928, they moved to Lemmon where he opened another branch for Wlst's. He purchased the business in 1932 and founded Nick's Produce which he operated until retiring in 1967. Bierschbach was a charter member and grand knight of Lemmon Council 2705, Knights of Columbus, and a past state treasurer of the organization. He also served as a trustee of St. Mary's Church from 1942 until his death and was a holder of the Papal Cross, Pro Ecclesiastia et Pontifice. He was a past president of the Lemmon chamber of Commerce and Lions Club, a 25-year member and past chief of the Lemmon Volunteer Fire Department, had served several terms on the city council, in various offices of the Junior Livestock Show Association and on the board of the Five Counties Hospital when it was built. He was also named a Jaycee "Boss of the Year." Surviving are his widow; three sons, Bernard of El Paso, Tex., Raymond of Los Angeles and Donald of Lemmon; a brother, Anton of Webster; a sister, and 11 grandchildren. Sister M. Vivian of Webster.
