Ehlinger Nicholas Ehlinger, of Lamotte, father of Lawrence Ehlinger of Cascade, died Thursday afternoon following a several weeks’ illness at Maquoketa hospital. Mr. Ehlinger was born June 23, 1860, on a farm near Lamotte. On June 23, 1880, he was married to Miss Catherine Welter, who preceded him in death in 1919. Mr. Ehlinger was born June 23, 1860, on a farm near Lamotte. On June 23, 1880, he was married to Miss Catherine Welter, who preceded him in death in 1919. One son, Aloysius, preceded his father in death. Mr. Ehlinger was very well known in Lamotte and through Jackson county and respected by all. Friends of his son, Lawrence, in Cascade, extend sincere sympathy in the loss of a kind father. Funeral services were held at Holy Rosary Church on Monday morning and burial was in the adjoining cemetery.
