Description	:	Nickolas "Nick" N. Mortenson, 37, Mobridge, and formerly of Aberdeen, died of natural causes Sunday, July 16, 2000, at St. Alexius Hospital, Bismarck. His funeral was held Wednesday, July 19, at the United Methodist Church, Groton, with the Rev. Richard Collman and the Rev. Paul Hathoway officiating. Burial was in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Aberdeen, under the direction of Paetznick-Garness Funeral Chapel, Groton. Mortneson was born March 29, 1963 at Britton to Ervin and Betty (Martin) Mortenson. The family moved to Aberdeen when he was a young child and attended school in Aberdeen. He graduated from Aberdeen Central High School in 1981. After school he attended the Lake Area Vocational Technical Institute in Watertown where he was educated in auto mechanics. He moved to Mobridge where he was employed at Mobridge Motors for 13 years. Nick later formed a business partnership, Mobridge Tree Company. He was married to Melissa Sippel in Groton on September 11, 1999. They made their home in Mobridge where he was residing at the time of his death. Nick loved hunting, fishing and being outdoors. He was soon to be a member of the Family Worship Center in Mobridge. Survivors include his wife, Melissa, of Mobridge; his mother, Betty Mortenson, Aberdeen; and one brother, Tom E. (Julie) Mortenson, Laramie, Wyo., and formerly of Aberdeen; a niece, Cheri Mortenson; and a nephew, Jacob Mortenson. He was preceded in death by his father and grandparents. Casketbearers were Rich Anderson, Dennis Ragels, Todd Ulmer, Will Mellott, Monte Sippel and Marc Sippel.
