P. Fisch, 31 Sixth avenue SE, resident of Le Mars since boyhood and pioneer grocery man, at St. Bernard's hospital in Council Bluffs, Friday, May 27. Death was caused by cerebral hemorrhage. Mr. Fisch had been in failing health for several years. Mr. Fisch was a native of Iowa and was born at St. Donatus, Jackson County, June 29, 1867, and came to Le Mars in 1875 with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Mathias Fisch, who were among the early settlers of Plymouth County. He received his education in Le Mars and grew up and engaged in the general merchandise business, conducting a store on what is now Plymouth Street, east of the railroad tracks. He was a successful merchant and enjoyed good patronage, as he was always fair and just with his customers, accommodating people when hard times prevailed and circumstances seem to justify. He was a good citizen, respected by all who knew him, a devout Christian, and a devoted husband and father. He was married May 8, 1894, to Margaret Pletschette, a member of another well-known Plymouth county family. He leaves to mourn his death his wife and six children, Philomena Fisch, Gregory Fisch, Mrs. Darrell Gralapp, Esther Fisch, Joseph Fisch and, Ralph Fisch, all of this city. He also leaves two brothers, Msgr. J. D. Fisch, pastor, of St. Joseph's church, Peter Fisch of Oyens, and four sisters, Mrs. Bernard Sudmeyer, Miss Jennie Fisch and Miss Ursula Fisch of this city, and Sister Concordia of Wilmette, Ill. Funeral Held Monday The funeral was held Monday morning in St. Joseph's church in this city, Msgr J. D. Fisch officiating at the requiem mass; and interment was made in the St. Joseph's cemetery
