Diedrick, 69, of 513 South Davis street, died at 7:45 p.m. Tuesday at the St. Joseph hospital following a short illness. A son of Henry and Maggie Diedrick, he was born May 20, 1890, in Appanoose county. He was an employee of the John Deere Ottumwa Works, retiring in 1955. Diedrick, 69, of 513 South Davis street, died at 7:45 p.m. Tuesday at the St. Joseph hospital following a short illness. A son of Henry and Maggie Diedrick, he was born May 20, 1890, in Appanoose county. He was an employee of the John Deere Ottumwa Works, retiring in 1955. On September 14, 1920, in Ottumwa, he was married to Larue (Ruth) Hunt who survives. Mr. Diedrick was a member of the Finley Avenue Baptist church. He was a veteran of World War I. He entered service July 22, 1918, at Ottumwa and was discharged January 8, 1919, at Camp Dodge. Besides his wife, he is survived by a son, Fred Diedrick of Ottumwa; two step-daughters, Mrs. Lucille Harreld of Pleasant Grove, Calif., and Mrs. Ruth Monohon of Tucson, Ariz.; 14 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a niece, Mrs. Loretta Coyne of Ottumwa. His parents, a grandson, one brother and one sister preceded him in death. The body is at the Johnson funeral chapel pending completion of arrangements. "Diedrick Services," From "Ottumwa Courier," August 20, 1959: Funeral services for Nick H. Diedrick, 69, of 513 South Davis street, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Johnson funeral chapel. The Rev. W.D. Scott, pastor of the Finley Avenue Baptist church, will officiate. Burial will be in the Shaul cemetery. Pallbearers will be Bill Thompson, Herman Brown, Lloyd Clark, Russell Pilcher, Cecil Bates and Leonard Byrum. Mr. Diedrick died at 7:45 p.m. Tuesday at the St. Joseph hospital.
