Description	:	OBITUARY - The Marysville Advocate - 16 September 1976 Nicklos James (Nick) Vogelsberg, 49, died early Sunday morning, Sept 5, at his home south of Winifred. He had been ill the past 1.5 years with cancer. Services were conducted Wednesday morning at 10:30 AM from St. Malachy's Catholic Church in Beattie of which he was a member. Officiating were the Rev. James Wright and the Rev. James Shaughnessy. Burial was in the parish cemetery with arrangements by Kinsley. He had been ill the past 1.5 years with cancer. Services were conducted Wednesday morning at 10:30 AM from St. Malachy's Catholic Church in Beattie of which he was a member. Officiating were the Rev. James Wright and the Rev. James Shaughnessy. Burial was in the parish cemetery with arrangements by Kinsley. Pall bearers were Wesley Nelson, Jack Dwerlkotte, Carl Seematter, Albert Ketter, Chester Fincham and John Adams. Vogelsberg, the son of John and Frieda Vogelsberg, was born Jan. 29, 1927, at Home, KS. He had moved to the present home south of Winifred 19 years ago, where he engaged in farming. He had served two years in the Army, entering March 23, 1951, and spending nine months in Germany. He was a member of Beattie American Legion, a former member of the Winifred school board and a member of the National Farmers Organization for 17 years, serving in various offices until being elected county chairman prior to his illness. He served as a coach for Beattie boys' baseball teams the past 10 years. He married Virginia Gunther May 19, 1951, and they were the parents of three sons and five daughters. Preceding him in death were his parents. Survivors are his widow, Mrs. Virginia Vogelsberg of the home; his children, Mrs. Kenneth (Catherine) Myers, Ft.Claton, Panama Canal Zone, Mrs. Terry (Patricia) Meyer, Topeka, Susan of Topeka, Donna, Thomas, David, Laura and Mark of the home; his brother, John R Vogelsberg of Home; a sister, Mrs. Mary Haug of Waterloo, IA, and 2 grandchildren.
