Description	:	. Nils Petersen (Pedersen) was born in Norway and married Carrie (Kari) Hanson there in 1856. Nils and Carrie came to America and settled first in Kendall County, Illinois. In the spring of 1859 they moved by ox teams to Olive Township, Clinton County, Iowa, and settled in Section Twenty-two. Pedersen married married Elizabeth (Libbie) Johnson and Samson N. Petersen married Elizabeth's sister Bertha Johnson. The sisters were the daughters of George and Bretta Christensen Johnson. Cornelius N. Petersen married Ida Hayes who was the daughter of Jonathan and Margaret Johnson Hayes. Ida was a first cousin of Elizabeth and Bertha. Nils and Carrie had seven grandchildren from Hans and Elizabeth. They were Peter Cornelius (Curney), Bertha Louise Georgine, Carrie Johanna Regina, George Christian, Hans Emil Leonard, Laura Svanhild Christine and Anne Marie Josephine, all born in Norman County, Minnesota. Samson and Bertha lived in Norman County, Minnesota and had two children Nels and Beatrice, plus an adopted daughter, Sister Laura Petersen. Cornelius and Ida had five children: Clara, Magnus, Irene, Lillian and Nils J., born in Clinton County, Iowa.
