Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the First Presbyterian Church with burial in Stanford Cemetry. Read More	The following provided by Find A Grave contributor "Cara": Great Falls Tribune (MT), 21 Nov 1994 Nina May Sisson Kathan Nina May Sisson Kathan, 84, a former Cascade County Democratic leader, died Saturday at a local hospital of complications from a heart attack. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the First Presbyterian Church with burial in Stanford Cemetry. Kathan was born Jan. 5, 1910, in Jennings, Kansas, and in 1914 moved with her family to Montana, where she grew up in the Geyser area at the Lone Tree Ranch. After graduating from Geyser High School she attended Normal College in Dillon and then moved to Great Falls, where she worked as a cook. In 1931 she married Howard Kathan and they lived on a wheat farm at Brady before moving to Great Falls in 1945. She worked at the Montana State Liquor Store, the Cascade County Courthouse, and was active in local politics. She was president of the Cascade County Democratic Women's Club, and in 1970 was appointed to the Montana Commission on the Status of Women. She worked on the campaigns of Rep. Pat Williams and several Democratic governors. She was a member of the Home Improvement Club, Daughters of the Nile, the Great Falls Figure Skating Club, and the Presbyterian Church, where she served as a deacon and volunteered in the nursery. Survivors include a daughter, Nada Christiansen of San Anselmo, Calif.; three sons, James Kathan of Helena, Ed Kathan of Kennewick, Wash., and Don Kathan of San Diego; a sister, Olive Sandmeyer of Great Falls; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
