Mr. Howard was born Jan. 6, 1912, at Coffeyville to Ross and Ola (Moon) Howard. He attended school at Coffeyville, and graduated from Field Kindley High School. Mr. Howard was born Jan. 6, 1912, at Coffeyville to Ross and Ola (Moon) Howard. He attended school at Coffeyville, and graduated from Field Kindley High School. He married Hollis Lillian Hobson, of Bartlett, in June 1938, at Coffeyville. The couple made their home in Coffeyville. Mrs. Howard preceded her husband in death Sept. 11, 1997, at Joplin. Mr. Howard was one of the original founders, in the 1940s, of Funk Aircract Co., which later became Funk Mfg. Co. He retired in 1972 from his position as secretary/treasurer for Funk Mfg. Some of Mr. and Mrs. Howard's hobbies were traveling and playing golf. Mr. and Mrs. Howard moved to Baxter Springs in 1995. He had been a member of First Christian Church, Coffeyville, and the Masonic Lodge of Lenapah, Okla. Mr. Howard is survived by one son, Mike Howard of Afton, Okla., and one grandson, Steven Howard of Baxter Springs. He was preceded in death by three brothers and by one sister. Services will be held 2 p.m. Thursdya at Ford-Wulf-Bruns Edgewood Chapel, with burial in Lake Creek Union Cemetery, Bartlett. Friends may call at the funeral home until 9 p.m. Tuesday, and from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday, and from 8 a.m. to service time Thursday. The family would welcome memorials to the American Heart Association.
