Description	:	He was the son of Noah Nash, Sr. and Elizabeth Burnett Johnson Nash. He married Rosanna Darrah September 25, 1859. They had six children, five of whom survived to adulthood: Cornelius (Neal), James, Martin, Mrs. Delilah McDaniel and Dora Stewart, the youngest daughter. Another son, Charles, drowned when he was 5 or 6 years old. They lived for many years in/near Walnut Township, Appanoose County, Iowa. Mrs. Nash preceded him about 12 years ago. Mr. Noah Nash was born in Jackson Co. Mo., May 9th 1837. He was married to Miss Rosanna Darrah September 23, 1859. He came to Appanoose Counuyu [County] in 1845, first camped on the Jesse Buck farm and then his father bought land across river near Walnut City and there Mr. Nash lived the greater part of his life. He has been a member of the Christian Church at Walnut City for a number of years. He is survived by one sister Mrs. Anna Dock[ainter?] of Des Moines who will be present for the funeral. His children are Mrs. Delilah McDaniel of Centerville, Neal Nash of Iconium, James Nash, north of Rathbun, Dora Stewart who lives on the home place. One son Charles was drownded [sic] at the age of 6. The funeral will be held Tuesday about 1:00 p.m. at the Shaffer [Schaeffer] cemetery. They will leave here about 10:00 a.m. He will be buried in the Shaffer Cemetery and the services will be conducted by D. O. Scott. [The Centerville (Iowa) Daily Citizen, Monday, October 19, 1914] Noah Nash Died Aged 77 Years The death of Noah Nash, one of the county's well known citizens occurred Monday morning at the home of his daughter, Mrs. D. R. McDaniel, on N. Main street. He was 77 years old May 9, and had lived in this county since 1845, making him probably the oldest resident of the county at the time of his death. He has been in failing health the past year or two, but had not been bedfast but a few days. Death was due to some kind of dropsical trouble. He was born in Jackson county, Mo. coming to Appanoose county in 1845, and with his parents settled on the farm northwest of Rathbun which continued to be his home the remainder of his life, except the time he spent with his children elsewhere. His wife died 14 years ago and since then he had spent a part of his time with his daughter, Mrs. McDaniel, and much of the time on the old farm where his daughter, Mrs. W. M. Stewart, lives. The children are: Delilah, the wife of D. R. McDaniel, Centerville; Cornelius, of Iconium; James, of Rathbun; Dora, wife of W. M. Stewart, on the old home place; Mart, of Mystic. One child, Charles Henry, lost his life by drowning when near five years old. The deceased was a member of the Christian church at Walnut City, having made a profession when 23 years old. He lived an upright life, highly respected by many neighbors and friends. The funeral is today, they leaving here by interurban car at 11:30 and going from Mystic to the Walnut City church for the services, burial at the Shaffer cemetery, north of Walnut City. R. McDaniel on North Main St. Monday morning after an illness of two weeks. Deceased was a familiar figure on the streets of Centerville when in health and was an old time resident of Appanoose County. Short funeral services were held at the home of his daughter, Mrs. McDaniel on Tuesday morning at 11 o'clock, conducted by Rev. McKenzie after which the remains were taken by special car to Mystic where the funeral cortege was taken to Walnut City where another service was conducted by the Rev. D. O. Scott the interment being made in the Shaeffer Cemetery north of Walnut City. Besides Mrs. McDaniel the surviving children of the deceased are James A. Nash of Rathbun, N. M. Nash of Mystic, C. S.
