Son of of David Sutton (ca. 1765/74 - 1837) and his second wife Lydia _____ (ca. 1793-after 1870) of Pitt County, NC. Husband of Arrabella Stokes (ca. 1815/20 - between 1844/50); E. Ann Nobles (b. ca. 1819, d. ca. 1850-51); and Permelia Avery (ca. 1832-aft. 1880).
Noah Sutton (ca. 1815/20-1865) married Arrabella Stokes before 1838 in Pitt County, NC. Arrabella Stokes (ca. 1815/20-bet. 1844/50) was the daughter of Alpheus Stokes (c. 1775/80 - ca. 1828) and his wife Mary "Polly" Warren (ca. 1785 - after 1850) of Pitt County, NC.
Noah Sutton and his wife Arrabella Stokes were the parents of Mary Ann Sutton (1838-1905; md. Amos Greene Johnson); David Sutton (d. 1864 Fort Harrison, VA; Served in Company G, 8th Infantry Regiment, NC State Troops, Civil War); and James H. Sutton (1842-1923; Served in Company G, 8th Infantry Regiment, NC State Troops, Civil War; 1md. Julia H. Carroll, 2md. Laura "Louie" Emily (Parrish) Parrish). Mary Ann (Sutton) Johnson and James H. Sutton both settled in Johnston County, NC.
Noah Sutton married secondly before 1850 to E. Ann Nobles in Pitt County, NC. E. Ann Nobles (ca. 1819-ca. 1850/51) was the daughter of Nathaniel Nobles (1796-1868) and Margaret Everett (1797-1869) of Pitt County, NC.
E. Ann Nobles' first name is uncertain. The initial E in her name was not Elizabeth, because Nathaniel Nobles' daughter Elizabeth Nobles was still living with her father in 1850. Elizabeth Nobles (ca. 1821-bef. 1900) became the second wife of James Sutton (ca. 1821-bef. March 2, 1898), brother of Noah Sutton.
Noah Sutton and his second wife E. Ann Nobles were the parents of Martha Frances Sutton (1850-1904, m. Robert M. Jones). Martha Frances Sutton went to live with her maternal grandparents after the death of her mother. She was living with her grandfather Nathaniel Nobles in the 1860 Federal Census, and is mentioned in his 1856 will as his granddaughter.
Noah Sutton married thirdly about 1850/51 to Permelia Avery (ca. 1832-aft. 1880) of Jones County, NC.
Noah Sutton and his third wife Permelia Avery were the parents of Sarah Sutton (1852-1925; md. James Elias Braxton); Julia Lavenie Sutton (1853-1918; md. Henry Curtis Williams); Lydia Sutton (ca. 1855-bef. 1870); Noah Sutton (1856-1922; md. Maggie Forbes); Tricia Ann Sutton (1859-1918; md. William Lacy); Eliza Sutton (ca. 1860); Joseph John Sutton (1861-1922; md. Keziah A. M. Mills); and Elias Gray Sutton (1863-1932; 1md. Bennie Bowers; 2md. Catherine Smith).
