Delwin Piper Service was in charge, with burial in the Lyons Cemetery. Noble Nelsen, son of John and Carrie Nelsen, was born Oct. 22, 1897, on a farm in the Basford community, where he grew to young manhood. He attended the Bacon school, also one term at the Wayne State College. He was engaged in farming with his father, later taking up the electrical trade which he followed until his retirement. He was married on June 10, 1925, to Miss Evelyn Anson, and they were the parents of three children, one daughter, Norma Jean, now Mrs. Orvid Owens of Lincoln; and two sons, Richard of Tekamah, and Gordon of Lyons Nelsen lived all of his life in the Lyons community except for three years the family spent in Fremont while he assisted at various defense plants during WW II. In his youth, he was confirmed in the Lutheran faith, and for almost 50 years, had been a faithful member of the First Presbyterian Church and served as a Church Elder. Noble is survived by his wife Evelyn; three children; 10 grandchildren; one great-grandson; one sister Carrie,(Mrs. Carl Dennis of Greeley, Colo.); three brothers, Emil of LaHabra, Calif., Hans and Clarence of Lyons. Also an aged aunt, Mrs. Annette Launsby, of Lyons, several nieces and nephews and many other relatives.
