Description	:	Nodie Mae Bennett COOKEVILLE -- Funeral services for Nodie Mae Bennett, 89, of Springfield, formerly of Cookeville, will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 27, at Crest Lawn Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Goff Cemetery in DeKalb County. The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. today, Thursday, Aug. 26, and from 10 a.m. until time of services on Friday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Goff Cemetery in DeKalb County. The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. today, Thursday, Aug. 26, and from 10 a.m. until time of services on Friday at the funeral home. Mrs. Bennett died Tuesday, Aug. 24, 2010, at her home. She was born Aug. 29, 1920, in DeKalb County to the late Charles Goff and Odell LaFever Goff. Mrs. Bennett worked as an assembler at Chrysler Corp. in Detroit, Mich., for 32 years before her retirement. She also taught school in a one room Rock Castle school for three years. Mrs. Bennett graduated high school from Pleasantview Academy. She was a devoted wife and a loving mother, grandmother and sister. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dewey G. Bennett; three sisters, Dovie Martin, Jewell Williams and Myrtis Allen; and six brothers, Albert, Ralph, Clay, Chuck, Glenn and Ross Goff. Pallbearers will be Austin and Brent Bennett, Weldon Williams, Jim Morse, Larry, Don and Hugh David Goff and Charlie Morse. Honorary pallbearers will be Freddie, Roy and Sam Bennett. Pastor Jim Moore will officiate at the services.
