He was born June 23, 1951 in Onslow County, NC and was the son of the late Nolen Dale Hurt Sr. and Virginia Gurganious Hurt. Read More	Mr. Nolen Dale Hurt Jr., age 65 of Willard died Saturday August 6, 2016 at Pender Memorial Hospital in Burgaw, NC while surrounded by his loving family. He was born June 23, 1951 in Onslow County, NC and was the son of the late Nolen Dale Hurt Sr. and Virginia Gurganious Hurt. Survivors include a brother Glen Hurt and wife Judy of Burgaw; sister Linda Eakins and husband Phil of Willard; nephews Jeffrey Hurt and wife Bobbie Sue and Gardner Eakins and wife Laura; nieces Eva Leitch and husband Scott and Phillis Galloway; two great nephews and four great nieces. Nolen was in the NC National Guard and was attending UNCW when he became disabled. He enjoyed going to church. He liked to paint and enjoyed painting for other people. A graveside service was held on Tuesday August 9, 2016, 11:00 AM at the Gurganious Family Cemetery, Bulltail Rd, Willard, NC. Nolen's nephew, the Reverend Gardner Eakins, officiated. The family received friends at Shiloh Baptist Church after the service. Harrell's Funeral Home of Burgaw, NC served the Hurt family.
