He had been a fireman first class in the navy and served three years during World War II. He was a carman for Santa Fe Railway. Other survivors include two sons, Dr. Larry Desch, Columbia, Mo., and Donald Desch, at home; a daughter, Mrs. Linda McKinley, 601 S.W. 57th; three brothers, Darrell Desch, 305 Twiss, Vincent Desch, 631 Lafayette, and Ronald Desch, 618 Lindenwood; a half-brother, Jerome Desch, 843 Baldwin Road; and a half-sister, Mrs. Virginia Arnold, 3842 Howard Drive.
