NONA GORDON Mrs. Nona Gordon,, 79, Valley Falls, died March 1, at a Holton nursing home. Mrs. Gordon taught in schools in Jefferson and Atchison counties. She was born Aug. 23, 1907, in Larkinburg, the daughter of Henry E. and Nora Smith Montgomery. She was raised in the Larkinburg community where she attended school. She was graduated from Holton High School and attended college at Emporia. She lived in the Valley Falls community many years. Mrs. Gordon was a member of the United Methodist Church and Grahem-Herbers Post No. 3084 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars auxiliary, both at Valley Falls. She was married to Eldon A. Gordon Sept. 18, 1928, at Holton. He died Nov. 11, 1978. Survivors include three sons, Donald E. Gordon, Houston, Texas, N. Dean Gordon and Daryl V. Gordon, both of Valley Falls; a brother, Maurice Montgomery, Mayetta; two sisters, Mrs. Lena McCray, Winchester, and Mrs. Ethel Kennedy, Kansas City, Kan.; several grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. Services were March 3 at Nellis-Hagge Funeral Home, Valley Falls, with Gary Spencer, First Christian Church, Valley Falls, officiating. Mrs. Raymond Lassiter was soloist and Mrs. Gary Spencer, organist. Pallbearers were Dusty Green, Ted Montgomery, Russell Montgomery, Keith Ferrell, Ronald Montgomery, and Paul Hurst. Burial was in Valley Falls Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. __________
