Description	:	LAKE PRESTON — Nora J. Nelson, 87, Lake Preston died Friday, April 25, 2008 at a De Smet hospital. Funeral services will be Monday, April 28 in the Lake Preston Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Wanda McNeill officiating. Burial will be in the North Preston Lutheran Cemetery at rural Lake Preston. Visitation at the Johnson-Henry Funeral Chapel in Lake Preston. She was born Oct. 22, 1920 to John and Johanna (Malpert) Kreienhop in Nemaha County, Neb. She was born Oct. 22, 1920 to John and Johanna (Malpert) Kreienhop in Nemaha County, Neb. She graduated from Auburn High School in 1946 and continued on to college at the University of Nebraska at Lincoln, Neb. until her marriage to Maurice Nelson on Dec. 26, 1947 at Auburn, Neb. She and Maurice farmed north of Lake Preston until 1964. After the death of her husband, she and her children moved into Lake Preston where she worked at several jobs including Susie's Caf/, Kingsbury Memorial Hospital, Farmers Union and Norwest Bank until her retirement in 1989. She was a member of Lake Preston Lutheran Church, quilting circle, WELCA, and Hetland Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed gardening, quilting, cooking and especially her grandchildren and their activities. She always had time to help her children. She was preceded in death by her husband, Maurice. Survivors include her daughter, Lois (Dennis) Paulson of Huron; son, Dale (Jackie) Nelson of Brookings; three grandchildren; and a brother, Herman Kreienhop.
