Born on Oct. 3, 1920, in Portland, Ind., she was the daughter of David and Hagar (Thomas) Hakes. She was raised by John and Lucille Bradbury. She graduated from Southside High School in 1938 and Methodist Hospital School of Nursing in 1942. She worked for Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne as a Registered Nurse. Read More	NORA MAE (nee HAKES) BRINDLE FARBER, 91, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Friday, Oct. 7, 2011 at Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne. Born on Oct. 3, 1920, in Portland, Ind., she was the daughter of David and Hagar (Thomas) Hakes. She was raised by John and Lucille Bradbury. She graduated from Southside High School in 1938 and Methodist Hospital School of Nursing in 1942. She worked for Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne as a Registered Nurse. She served as Head Nurse on third shift at the hospital. She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Fort Wayne. She was also a member of the Lindenview Nurse's Group, Parkview Nurse's Alumni and Ambassadors Club, East Allen County Enchanted Doll Club, Daughters of the American Revolution and Daughters of the Union Veterans of the Civil War. She married Max Edward Brindle on Nov. 16, 1944 and he passed away on February 25, 1970. She later married Clarence Orlo Farber on Nov. 10, 1979 and he passed away on May 30, 2003. Surviving are three sons, Ted (Betty) Brindle, Thomas (Marveta) Brindle, Terry (JoAnn) Brindle all of Fort Wayne; one brother, Bill Sweigart of Lagrange, Ind.; and several grandchildren and great -grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one brother, Richard Hakes; and two sons, Timothy and Trenton Brindle. Service is 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2011 at D.O. McComb Lake Avenue Funeral Home, Lake Avenue, Fort Wayne, with Pastor Richard Shiveley officiating. Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2011 at the funeral home. Burial at Glenwood Cemetery in Roanoke, Indiana. Memorials to the First Church of the Nazarene World Evangelism Fund, 3515 W. State Boulevard, Fort Wayne, IN, 46808.
