Description	:	Norbert J. Kash, 92, of Colo, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, Oct. 22, 2016 at Windsor Manor in Nevada. A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, Nov. 26 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Colo, Iowa. Funeral Mass will begin at 11:00 a.m. with Father Rick Dagit officiating. Burial will follow at the St. James Cemetery, also in Colo. Norbert was born in Dundee, Iowa on June 6, 1924 to Clarence and Mary (Kenna) Kash. Burial will follow at the St. James Cemetery, also in Colo. Norbert was born in Dundee, Iowa on June 6, 1924 to Clarence and Mary (Kenna) Kash. He attended Lamont High School and graduated in 1941 at the age of 16. Following school he worked as a dairy cow tester and, during World War II, served in the U.S. Army. After the war, Norbert attended college at Iowa State University and was a member of the Alpha Gamma Rho fraternity. He graduated in 1951 with a degree in dairy husbandry. Norbert married his beloved Martha Hopkins at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Colo on Jan. 10, 1953. Together they raised their family of seven children. Martha and Norbert lived in several states throughout their sixty years together - Iowa, Illinois, Texas, Colorado, and Arizona. Norbert was a banker, businessman and farmer. He was a devout Catholic and enjoyed genealogy, woodworking, hiking, reading, and telling stories. Norbert published an autobiography in 2009, entitled 'A Life Filled With Miracles'. Norbert was preceded in death by his parents, wife Martha, infant son Timothy, sister Evelyn (“Dickie”) Smith, and daughter-in-law Shelley Kash.
