Description	:	Norma Waterman Drinkwater, daughter of Ero and Genevieve Gamage Blom, passed away peacefully at home. She was born in Ash Point, Owls Head, Maine. Norma will be remembered by many whose lives she touched. She helped many people without expectation of reward or recognition. Read More	Norma Waterman Drinkwater, daughter of Ero and Genevieve Gamage Blom, passed away peacefully at home. She was born in Ash Point, Owls Head, Maine. Norma will be remembered by many whose lives she touched. She helped many people without expectation of reward or recognition. She had extraordinary talents in diverse areas and prided herself as a "Stubborn Finn"! There was nothing she would not try. She was a fisherman's daughter, always cherishing her memories of her life on Crie Haven Island. She came ashore for her high school education, attending Leavitt Institute in Turner, ME and graduating from Rockland High School in 1944. She cherished her children and no matter her life circumstances they were always cared for to the best of her ability. Wherever she was, she created a home. A few of her talents included but were not limited to cooking, carpentry, hunting, writing, sewing, and creating games. During her life, Norma held many jobs. Some of her employments were as a piece worker at Sylvania's in Waldoboro, buying clerk for Sim's Lobster pound, owner of an antique shop, cook for Allards' Store on Spruce Head Island, the Gilford Butler School, Knox Hospital and the Spudnut Shop in Rockland. She was an assistant for the Owls Head Head Start Program and the Governess for the Hitchcock Family of Rochester, New York. She lobstered on her own from Crie Haven Island. She later delivered the mail for sixteen years in South Thomaston and Spruce Head. After "retiring", she assisted her daughter Heather, with the Night Kitchen Bakery for ten years. Norma was a life member of the Forget-Me-Not Chapter of the Eastern Star. Other than her parents, Norma was predeceased by her sister Barbara, and daughter-in-law Mary J. Waterman. She is survived by her children from her marriage to Robert T. Waterman, which include two daughters Heather and Cheryl Waterman; her son Steven Waterman and his wife Sonia, all of South Thomaston; her grandaughters, Emily Dillon and her husband Peter of Hawaii, Nellie Waterman and her husband Zachary Woodruff of Cocoa, FL, Sarah Waterman of South Thomaston; her grandson Erik Waterman and his wife Jamie of South Thomaston; five great grandchildren, Sophia, Anja and Vincent Dillon in HI, Leah and Abby Waterman of South Thomaston; her nephew Dennis M. Orlando Pessia of AR; her cousins Shirley Ruminski of Warren and Marjorie Strunk of Nantucket, MA, and her many relatives of the Gamage family.
