Norma E. Beach Grubb, 90, of Dover, passed away Monday, March 28, 2011 at Midland Hospice House, Topeka. She was born May 28, 1920 in Fairview, KS, the daughter of LeRoy Luther and Mary Anna (Weikle) Beach.
She managed the Dover Café in the 1960's. She was awarded the prize of the GMA ""Best Slice Challenge"" in November of 2008 while working at Sommerset Hall Café in Dover. She was a member of Dover Federated Church and Ladies Aide.
Norma married Wilbur Martin Grubb on June 1, 1938 in Keene, KS. He preceded her in death on June 6, 1990....

Survivors include her children, Gerald D.(Dee) Grubb, Silver Lake, KS, Shirley (Cecil) Grist, Topeka, Melva Jean (Charlie) Yeomans, Ft. Worth, TX, Wanola (Harold) Patterson, Maple Hill, KS, Donald L. (Denise) Grubb, Topeka, Margaret E. Marling, Dover, Wendell E. (Takayo) Grubb, Trivoli, IL; a daughter-in-law, Connie Grubb, Topeka; 23 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren 2 siblings, Eugene (Louella) Beach, Muscotah, KS and Nona Mae (Ray) Drennon, Topeka and numerous others who called her ""Mom"" or ""Grandma""
She was preceded in death by a son, Melvin G. Grubb, Aug. of 1996, a grandson, Micky L. Grubb, Oct. of 2006, 3 brothers and 2 sisters.
Norma was an avid quilter and card player. Her greatest joy was her family and friends, especially cooking and baking for them. She had a great love for the Dover Community. The family would like to thank the Dover community for all their years of support.
A celebration of life will be 10:30 a.m., Friday, April 1, 2011 at the Dover Federated Church, 13449 SW 57th St., Topeka, KS 66610. Interment will follow at Dover Cemetery. Mrs. Grubb will lie in state after 3 p.m., Thursday at the Penwell-Gabel Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Rd, Topeka, where the family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Midland Care Hospice of Kansas, 200 SW Frazier Circle, Topeka, KS 66606 or to Dover Community Foundation Endowment Fund, in Norma's name, P.O.
