Norma Elaine (Schlote) Jehorek was born May 19, 1940, in Winnetoon, Nebraska to Alfred and Amy (Arneson) Schlote. She graduated from Niobrara High School in 1958, and married Martin Jehorek, Jr. on June 12, 1958. They moved to the Jehorek family farm in Lynch, Nebraska where they farmed and had a dairy herd until the mid-1980¡¦s. Norma also worked at Sacred Heart Hospital in Lynch in the laundry department. She then worked in the kitchen department at the new Niobrara Valley Hospital when it opened. Norma eventually became the head dietician there. Norma and Martin moved to Norfolk, Nebraska. She worked at the IBP plant in Madison, Nebraska for several years, until they retired and moved to Valentine, Nebraska. Norma loved to cook and bake, and spent many hours each week baking a variety of goods for the Farmers Market in Norfolk each Saturday. Her hobbies included quilting, crocheting, gardening, sewing, and square dancing. Norma is survived by her husband, Martin Jehorek, Jr. of Valentine, Nebraska; daughter, Susan (Alan) McEvoy of Valentine; sister, Idagene Steckel of Wellton, Arizona; sister-in-law, Maxine (Robert) Connelly of Lincoln, Nebraska; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. ...Provided by Vicky Johnson
