She was born April 25, 1929, in Centerville to Robert Eugene and Eva Adeline Zeller Dudley. She married Leland Laverne Lewis on April 25, 1947. He preceded her in death Dec. 31, 2009. She attended school in Cincinnati, Iowa, where she played basketball(guard position)and was on the all-state team in 1946 and 1947. She was a homemaker and had worked for Wapello Co. Farm Bureau. She was a member of Davis St. Christian Church. She was on the Champion Bowl Women's league, competing in state competitions, she belonged to Professional Women's Sorority and the Saddle Club, which she served as treasurer. She enjoyed crocheting, ceramics, gambling and was an amazing cook. Surviving are her four children, Sharon Moore of Davenport, Deborah(Randy)Freeman, Michael Lewis and Michelle Fiscella, all of Ottumwa; 10 grandchildren, Ryan and Mikel Moore, Jason and Jeremy VanVeen, Jessica(Simon)Coy, Reiley Freeman, Brett Lewis, Chandley, Kaitlyn and Paige Fiscella; three great-grandchildren, Bryce and Riayn VanVeen and Benjamin Moore; a brother, Harold(Donna)Dudley of Cincinnati, Iowa; and a sister, Marjorie Dudley of Blue Springs, Mo. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents and a brother, Russell Dudley. Funeral services will be 2pm Tuesday at Reece Funeral Home with Rev. James H. Wakelin officiating. Burial will be in Shaul Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 1pm Monday at the funeral home with the family present one hour prior to the service on Tuesday. Memorials may be made to Davis Street Christian Church or the National Psoriasis Foundation.
