Norma Jean Hill was born on April 29, 1934, in Sioux Falls, SD, the daughter of David John and Helen Marie (Freeman) Hill. She grew up attending school in Egan, SD and later moved to Flandreau, SD. Norma Jean Hill was born on April 29, 1934, in Sioux Falls, SD, the daughter of David John and Helen Marie (Freeman) Hill. She grew up attending school in Egan, SD and later moved to Flandreau, SD. On May 3, 1952 she married Elmer Kautz at Lake Benton, MN. The couple made their home in Sioux Falls and six children were born to this union. On June 22, 1984 she married Gene Nordman at Trosky, MN. The couple lived in Lennox. Gene died in 1999. Norma enjoyed needlework, especially quilting and embroidery. She raised birds, which included finches, parakeets and cockatiels. She had a soft spot for taking in and caring for dogs. She also enjoyed board games. Besides her parents and husbands, Norma was preceded in death by her twin brother, Norman Hill, brothers Willis and Don Hill; great-grandchildren Micah Kautz and Hailey Barnett and son-in-law Larry Prokop. Grateful for having shared her life are her six children: Wilbur (Evelyn) Kautz, Lennox, William Kautz, Sioux Falls, Kathleen Prokop, Tea, Michael (Julie) Kautz, Sioux Falls, Barbara (Gary) Nelson, Sioux Falls and Billie Jo Kautz, Sioux Falls; 16 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; special friend, George Ulrich, Lennox; siblings: Lois VandeKeift, Luverne, MN, Helen Furney, Sioux Falls, William Hill, Moline, IL and Doug (Diane) Hill, Maryville, TN as well as other relatives and friends.
