Norma was born on October 22, 1927 in Archer, Nebraska to Lloyd and Elsie (Banish) Stalker. She grew up in the Archer area and attended Archer High School. Private family burial will be held at the Burke Cemetery. Norma was born on October 22, 1927 in Archer, Nebraska to Lloyd and Elsie (Banish) Stalker. She grew up in the Archer area and attended Archer High School. She then attended Nebraska Christian Teaching College. Following her schooling, she taught in a small country school in the Archer area. She married DeWitt Van Pelt on March 7, 1948 in Archer. They made their family on a farm near Palmer. She then stayed home to raise her large family. Norma enjoyed square dancing, quilting, crocheting, and later in life putting together puzzles. She was a member of the Pierce Chapel Methodist Church, Order of the Eastern Star, and on the Resident Council at Cottonwood Estates. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Dennis and Joyce Van Pelt of Dexter, Iowa, and Daryl and Julie Van Pelt of Clarks; six daughters and sons-in-law, Diane and John Kiser of Kansas City, Mo., Denise and Wayne Beck of Stromsburg, Dixie and Robert Freeborn of Kansas City, Mo., Dawn and Rick Lucas of Council Grove, Kan., Dodi and Robert Lynn of Kearney and Dina and Mike Euler of Lincoln, her brother; Doyle Stalker of Golden City, MO, sisters-in-law; Lorraine Stalker of Omaha, Carmen Van Pelt of Archer, Rhoda Seiler of Axtell, Judy Anderson of Axtell, Sharlene Reise of Grand Island, Nora and Virgil Lindner of Central City, brother-in-law; Steve and Vickie Van Pelt of Archer, 17 grandchildren, and 29 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her brother; Don Stalker, sister; Barbara and Mel Diehl, sisters-in-law; Linda Stalker and Betty and Myron Duncan, brothers-in-law; Roger and Edith Van Pelt, Dwaine Van Pelt, Gerald Reise, and Stu Anderson.
