Funeral Service will be 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 20, 2010, at New Hope United Methodist Church, Muscatine. Pastor Mary Howell will officiate at the service. Casket bearers will be John Bierman, Tanner Gandia, Dustin Werling, Travis Atkins, Jeff Klingaman and Rodney Kjell. Read More	MUSCATINE, Iowa — Norma Jean "Blondie" Boorn, 84, of Muscatine, passed away on Saturday, July 17, 2010, at the Lutheran Homes in Muscatine. Funeral Service will be 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 20, 2010, at New Hope United Methodist Church, Muscatine. Pastor Mary Howell will officiate at the service. Casket bearers will be John Bierman, Tanner Gandia, Dustin Werling, Travis Atkins, Jeff Klingaman and Rodney Kjell. Burial will take place at the Muscatine Memorial Park Cemetery, followed by a time of food and fellowship at New Hope United Methodist Church. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday, July 19, 2010, at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Funeral Home. A memorial fund has been established at the funeral home in Norma's name. Norma Jean Holliday was born on December 27, 1925, in Muscatine, the daughter of Alonzo Dale and Viola Freyermuth Holliday. She was united in marriage to John Boorn on September 18, 1943. He preceded her in death in 1998. Norma was the superintendent of the organized group of displays for the Muscatine County Fair and participated in the fair for more than 50 years. She was a member of Spangler Chapel United Methodist Church where she was in the Ladies Aide. She was also a member of the Farm Bureau; the Red Barn Society; and the Bloomington and Iowa State Grange, serving both organizations as an officer. She enjoyed gardening, bingo, doing chores on the farm, playing cards and having a house full of friends and family. Norma will be deeply missed by her two daughters, Carolyn Bierman and husband, Robert, of Moscow; and Bonnie Atkins and husband, Leroy, of Muscatine; six grandchildren, Jennifer Gandia, Valerie Kjell, Stacey Werling, Kellie Klingaman, John Bierman and Travis Atkins; 11 great-grandchildren, Lauren and Tanner Gandia, Gwen Atkins, Abby and Owen Kjell, Gina and Alex Prosser, Parker and Paige Werling, Dominic Mathis and Connor Bierman; and her brother, Richard Holliday and wife, Doris, of Muscatine. Norma was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
