She was born on August 19, 1929 in Boone, Iowa the daughter of William and Isabelle (Flockhart) Klute. On July 24, 1947, she married Robert Majors in Boone, Iowa. Norma Jean was a 1946 graduate of Boone High School and while going to school she worked at the soda fountain and did deliveries for Mitchel Drug. Norma Jean was a 1946 graduate of Boone High School and while going to school she worked at the soda fountain and did deliveries for Mitchel Drug. For many years, Norma Jean worked as a housekeeper for private families in the community. She never felt it was a job, as she was always treated like one of the family. She worked hard, never sat still and always had a project whether it was gardening, planting flowers, or going to or setting up for a garage sale. Her greatest joys were cooking Sunday dinner for everyone which she did until this past December, making a special birthday cake each year for each member of the family, attending her grandchildrens' events, and taking care of her cat, Heidi. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church. Her parents and husband, Robert in September of 1989, preceded her in death. Services will be held on Wednesday morning, April 20th at 10:00 a.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Boone with Pastor Lindsay Watkins officiating. Interment will be in the Linwood Park Cemetery in Boone. Visitations will be held on Tuesday evening, April 19th at the Stark-Welin Chapel in Boone from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with the family present during that time to greet friends. Visitations will continue at the Church on Wednesday morning from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.
