Description	:	Norma Jean McGrew, 81, of Centerville passed away unexpectedly on Monday, September 23, 2013 at her residence. She was born on May 18, 1932 in Center Township to C. Herschel and H. Irene Bright McGrew and had lived all her life in the Centerville area. Norma graduated as valedictorian of her Centerville High School class of 1950 and from Ball State University with a Bachelor's degree in education and Master's degree in library science. Read More	Norma Jean McGrew, 81, of Centerville passed away unexpectedly on Monday, September 23, 2013 at her residence. She was born on May 18, 1932 in Center Township to C. Herschel and H. Irene Bright McGrew and had lived all her life in the Centerville area. Norma graduated as valedictorian of her Centerville High School class of 1950 and from Ball State University with a Bachelor's degree in education and Master's degree in library science. She taught social studies at Greens Fork High School and was a school librarian in the Centerville-Abington Corporation for many years. She was an active member of the Daughters of American Revolution. She was active in farming all her life and was a member of American Shorthorn Association. Her herd of registered Shorthorn cattle was her pride and joy. She enjoyed history, genealogy, crocheting, sewing and working with her flowers. She and her father traveled extensively throughout the United States. Norma and her independent spirit will be greatly missed. Survivors include many cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents. Friends may gather at Waskom Capitol Hill Chapel in Cambridge City on Saturday, September 28, 2013 from 11:00 a.m. until start of services at 1:00 p.m. Pastor Robert Malone will officiate. Burial will follow in Zion's Lutheran Cemetery in Pershing. Memorial contributions may be made to Centerville Dollars for Scholars.
