Description	:	Norma J. (Meador) Coleman, 94, Greensburg, passed away at 2:52 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 13, 2016, at Aspen Place Health Campus in Greensburg. She was born April 18, 1922, in Kokomo, to Dewey and Hazel Justina (Ridenour) Meador. Norma graduated from Kokomo High School in 1940 and worked as a bookkeeper in downtown Kokomo for ten years. On April 1, 1951, she married Harold Coleman. Harold was a dairy farmer in Ervin township, and Norma loved living on the farm and helping her husband with the dairy herd. (Meador) Coleman, 94, Greensburg, passed away at 2:52 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 13, 2016, at Aspen Place Health Campus in Greensburg. She was born April 18, 1922, in Kokomo, to Dewey and Hazel Justina (Ridenour) Meador. Norma graduated from Kokomo High School in 1940 and worked as a bookkeeper in downtown Kokomo for ten years. On April 1, 1951, she married Harold Coleman. Harold was a dairy farmer in Ervin township, and Norma loved living on the farm and helping her husband with the dairy herd. They were active members of Shiloh United Methodist Church where Norma taught Sunday School and was involved in women's activities. Harold passed away on Jan. 17, 1973, and in November of 1975, Norma moved to the Wolcott area with three of her children, living there for 34 years. She became a member of Wolcott United Methodist Church, where she served as Lay Leader for six years, taught Sunday School, was a member of the Crusader's Circle of United Methodist Women and served as church secretary for 17 years. She loved the life of the the church and served on various other committees as well. She was employed at Palmer & Young Distributing, a farm related business for 15 years as secretary/bookkeeper. She was also a member of Wolcott Woman's Club, serving as secretary and president. One of her great loves was being a member of Anson Wolcott Historical Society where she served on the Board of Directors for 20 years and enjoyed giving tours of the Wolcott House and telling the history of the Wolcott family. In January of 2010, she moved to Greensburg to be near her daughter's family, and she became a member of Greensburg United Methodist Church. She was an avid sports fan, especially of PGA golf, the Indianapolis Colts and the Purdue Boilermakers, and she thoroughly enjoyed her main hobby, genealogy research of her family and writing a family history. She is survived by her sons, Michael (Carol) Coleman, Holiday, Florida, and John Coleman, Valders, Wisconsin; daughters, Anne (Wayne) Ping, Rushville, Jane (Jack) Littlejohn, Chesapeake, Virginia, and Linda (Scott) King, Blacksburg, Virginia; nine grandchildren, William Ping, Rushville, Jacob (Marci) Ping, Rushville, Matthew (Stacia) Ping, Shelbyville, Rebecca (Kenneth) Nuse, Holiday, Florida, Andrew Coleman, Holiday, Florida, Heather Littlejohn, Virginia Beach, Virginia, Alec Littlejohn, Chesapeake, Virginia, and Benjamin and Rachel King, Blacksburg, Virginia; four great-grancdhildren, Madison, Connor and Noah Ping, Shelbyville, and Bethany Nuse, Holiday, Florida; brother, Jack (Mary) Meador, Kokomo; sister, Mary Russell, Bloomington; sister-in-law, Norma Spangler, Kokomo; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Dead Meador; and sister-in-law, Payte Meador. The funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at Shiloh United Methodist Church, 5741 W. 100 N., Kokomo, with Pastor Michael Goodspeed officiating. Burial will follow in Shiloh Cemetery. Friends are invited to visit from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Stout & Son Funeral Home, 200 E. Main St., Russiaville.
