Description	:	Funeral services were held Wed., March 27, 1985 from Hastings Funeral Home in Jefferson for Norma J. Miller, 56, of rural Paton, longtime area resident. John Pommer, of the Jefferson congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses, officiated. Mrs. Donald Crane of Denison, was organist. Mrs. Miller's friends were honorary casket bearers. Cremains will be interred at Paton Twp Cemetery. Norma Joy Miller, daughter of Joseph and Florence (Shedd) Tripp, was born Jan. 10, 1929, at her parents' home near Napier. She died March 25 in a car accident about three miles south of Gowrie. While Norma was a small child, her family moved to the Paton area where she attended school, and was a 1947 graduate of Paton High School. On Oct. 27, 1946, Norma was married to Richard Miller at the home of her parents. After their marriage the family lived north of Paton and began farming in 1948. They later moved to Dayton for three years and Farnhamville for about 16 years before moving to a farm south of Gowrie in 1965. They moved to their present farm home north of Paton in 1975. Norma and Dick were the parents of three children: James, Connie, and Angela. Since the fall of 1969, Norma had been a school bus driver for Prairie Community School District. She was a very active member of the Jefferson Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses and spent at least five hours a week in meetings and Bible education work. Norma was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband, Dick of Paton; one son, James (Robbie); two daughters: Connie (Darrell) and Angela (John); one brother, Herman Tripp (Clara); two sisters: Alice (Darwin) and Elizabeth (Neal); her mother-in-law, Grace; sister-in-law, Linda; uncle Harris (Zelma); four aunts: Mable, Velda, Pauline, Mary (Millard).
