Read More	Norma Paulson, 76, of Platte, SD was called home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, February 7, 2015 at Avera Queen of Peace Health Services in Mitchell, SD. Norma June (Leiferman) Paulson was born on June 27, 1938 to Clarence and Coral (Hoffman) Leiferman at their home in rural Platte, SD. She attended Castalia #3 (Beemer) School, Platte #1 (Summerville) School and graduated from Platte High School in 1957. She was a Young Citizen’s League (YCL) delegate from Charles Mix County to Pierre during the 1950-51 school year; was active in the Academy Boys and Girls Club and the Always Busy Jr. 4-H Club, as well as being a member of the Five-Miler’s Softball Team when she was 14. Norma married Gerald Paulson on September 25, 1955 at the Academy Congregational Church. To this union three children were born: Cynthia, Sonjia and Bradley. They lived in Castalia Township and attended West Trinity Lutheran Church where she was active in Ladies Aid. Norma participated in the Better Homes Extension Club of Charles Mix County for 30 years; belonged to Square Dancing Club; was a 4-H Leader for the Always Busy Jr. and River Rangers Clubs; in 1972 was a founding member of local TOPS Club #0299; served as Charles Mix County 4-H Leader’s Association President, Vice President, Secretary, Reporter and SD District Secretary; was Charles Mix County’s 1975 Homemaker of the Year; was the Charles Mix County delegate to Sioux City, IA; served as Secretary for the Women’s and Mixed Doubles bowling leagues; and was instrumental in the Horsemen’s Club and 4-H judging schools. Norma was employed as Activities Director at the Good Samaritan Center in Wagner, SD for 20 years. She also wrote the “West of Town News” for the Platte Enterprise for over 50 years. Norma was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Platte and the Wagner Lions Club. She enjoyed gardening, reading, listening to Statler Brothers and oldies music, completing crossword puzzles, playing cards and board games, visiting with friends and playing the piano and organ. Norma was preceded in death by: her parents, Clarence and Coral Leiferman; a brother Boyde Leiferman; a grandson, Terry Severson; an infant niece and infant nephew.
