Norma, the daughter of Loran and Mary Eileen (Hughes) Goodwater was born on March 4, 1950 at Albion, Nebraska. Norma was baptized on March 29, 1953 and confirmed on May 12, 1963 at the United Methodist Church in Albion. Read More	Norma Lee (Goodwater) VanDeWalle, 61 of Albion, NE, passed away Saturday, October 8, 2011 at the Boone County Health Center in Albion. Norma, the daughter of Loran and Mary Eileen (Hughes) Goodwater was born on March 4, 1950 at Albion, Nebraska. Norma was baptized on March 29, 1953 and confirmed on May 12, 1963 at the United Methodist Church in Albion. Norma attended Boone County School Districts # 23 and 49 through the 8th grade, and graduated from Albion High School with the class of 1968. Following school, Norma worked at the First National Bank of Albion. On June 12, 1971 Norma was united in marriage to Albert James VanDeWalle at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Albion. They lived near Albion where she continued to work at the bank until 1974 and then worked at "The Shopper." When her children were young, Norma worked as a mother and farm wife. As their children became older, Norma worked at the Wolf Memorial Good Samaritan Home in Albion and began driving a bus for the Albion City Schools. This she did for 24 years until her health no longer allowed her work. Norma was a long time member of the United Methodist Church where she was active as a choir member and Chairperson of the Mission Outreach Committee. She also served as a school board member at District #49, a 4-H Club leader, and member and current treasurer of the Ladies Auxiliary of the V.F.W. Norma loved life, God, her family and community. She was usually very busy helping others but when she did take a minute for herself you would find her riding her horses, spoiling her grandkids and walking her little dogs Kelly and Paco. She was a woman who truly enjoyed her job. As most everyone already knows she drove a school bus for Boone Central Schools. When she drove, parents could put their worries to rest as they knew Norma had their children and they would be returned safely. She took care of all the kids on her bus as if they were her own. Surviving Norma is her husband Albert of Albion; children Trevor of Albion; Traci Baack and husband Greg of Bellevue, NE; Tara Janda and husband Jim of Ravenna, NE; grandchildren: Mason Janda, Alivia and MacKenzie Baack; mother Eileen Goodwater and brother David Goodwater and wife Frances, all of Albion. Norma was preceded in death by her father, Loran Goodwater. Interment was in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Albion, NE
