Norma Leota Diercks was born February 23, 1912 at Denver, Iowa, the daughter of William and Marie (Meier) Diercks. She grew up in Iowa and attended school there. Read More	Grand Forks Herald (ND) - Friday, August 8, 2008 Norma Klein, 96, of Drayton, North Dakota passed away on Tuesday, August 5th, 2008 at the Lutheran Sunset Home in Grafton, North Dakota. Norma Leota Diercks was born February 23, 1912 at Denver, Iowa, the daughter of William and Marie (Meier) Diercks. She grew up in Iowa and attended school there. On October 14, 1937 she was united in marriage to Ernst Klein at Klinger, Iowa. They settled on southeast of Hamilton, North Dakota and farmed there for many years. Ernst died on March 8, 1981. Norma was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and the LWML. She was an avid quilter and did it all by hand. Family and friends were very important to Norma and she was always keeping in touch with phone calls and letters. Norma became a resident of Lutheran Sunset Home in November of 2007. Family members include her children, Harold (Merrily) Klein, Pocatello, ID, Robert (Marsha) Klein, Drayton, ND, Jean (Robert) Wiley, Austin, TX and Donald (Cheryl) Klein, Newkirk, OK; grandchildren, Harold William (Veronica) Klein, Jr., Rhonda (Dan) Atkinson, Jason Klein, Jennifer Klein, Aimee Klein, Rachael (Scott) Hamre, Jonathan Klein, Michael (Lindsay) Klein and Nathanael Klein; and great grandchildren, Stephen, Katrina and Sarah Klein, Ryan, Jessica and Andrew Atkinson, Greta and Lottie Hamre. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernst; brothers, Art, Otto, Ed and Paul; and sisters, Martha Rathe, Charlotte Matthias, Erna Matthias and Agnes Diercks. Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, August 9, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. in Trinity Lutheran Church at Drayton. Interment will be in St. Paul's Cemetery, rural St. Thomas, North Dakota.
