Description	:	Norma O'Brien, 78, of Froid, left her pain behind in Houston, Texas, where she was staying with her daughter and son-in-law while being treated for cancer at MD Anderson, on Friday, Nov. 2, 2012. Norma was born to the late Gustav Lien and Nina (Tobiason) Lien-Seegert, July 5, 1934, in Froid. She was baptized and confirmed in the Froid Lutheran Church and attended Froid Public Schools. Norma married Hector Labatte in July of 1951. Together they had three children, Gregg, Lynn and Debbie. Hector passed away in November 1973. Norma was born to the late Gustav Lien and Nina (Tobiason) Lien-Seegert, July 5, 1934, in Froid. She was baptized and confirmed in the Froid Lutheran Church and attended Froid Public Schools. Norma married Hector Labatte in July of 1951. Together they had three children, Gregg, Lynn and Debbie. Hector passed away in November 1973. Norma completed Cosmetology School and opened her own shop in Froid. She went on to complete her education becoming a barber and then a barber instructor. Norma married Carl Dix in February 1977. She later married Roy O'Brien on July 18, 1988. They lived in Froid and wintered in Bullhead City, Ariz. Family meant the world to Norma. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were always her priority. Norma is survived by her husband Roy O'Brien, her children Gregg and Lynda Labatte of Froid, Lynn and Linda Labatte of Culbertson, Debbie and Thomas Rucker of Spring, Texas, and Ronald O'Brien of Buchanan Dam, Texas. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, stepfather Wilhelm Seegert, her husband Hector Labatte, and her brothers Lloyd and Farrell Lien. Cremation has taken place per her wishes. Memorial services will be held Friday, Nov. 16, at the Froid Lutheran Church.
