Read More	Hall, Norma Lucille Schlanker Lincoln Journal Star Tuesday, April 10, 2012 Norma Lucille Schlanker Hall, passed away on April 7, 2012 at her home near Elmwood. She was born in Elmwood on July 29, 1932 to William and Mabel (Newlin) Schlanker. Norma attended Fairview Country School through 8th grade and graduated from Elmwood High school in 1949. She married Dale Hall in Elmwood on August 1, 1952 and travelled with Dale during his service to the U.S. Air Force until 1954 when they moved back to a farm near Elmwood. She was a woman of varied and amazing talents and interests. She could be found on the tractor, working in the garden, harvesting in the combine, testifying at state and federal committee hearings, cooking in the kitchen, driving a grain truck, leading a national farm organization, sewing clothes, making beautiful floral arrangements, serving in her church, making beautiful music with her voice, helping her sons with their 4-H projects and hauling animals, helping people at the Bits and Pieces Store, and always loving and caring for her family. She was a dedicated member of the Elmwood Christian Church, Christian Women's Fellowship, Cub Scout Den Mother, and 4-H parent. She was a charter and active member of the Modern Mother's Club. She also served on the Cass County Election Board. The Women Involved In Farm Economics (WIFE) organization elected her as Nebraska chapter president. She also served the national organization as an area director and secretary. Norma served several years on the board of the Center for Rural Affairs. She worked to bring a case before the Nebraska Supreme Court. Hall v. Progress Pig Inc. resulted in Progress Pig being found in violation of the Nebraska Constitution. She was also successful in federal court in the effort to ensure that those women who farm with their spouses be given equal "person status" for all USDA programs. At the time of her death she was serving on the Nebraska State Committee for the Farm Service Agency. Norma was preceded in death by her parents, and a sister, Doris Jeanne Schlanker Schmidt. Norma is survived by her husband, Dale, and two sons, Glenn Hall of Dumont, Colo., and Gary Hall (Cindy) of Mason City, Iowa. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Lisa Lehr, Jessica Hall, and Brian (Valerie) Hall, and two great grandchildren, Brayton Lehr and Neal Hall. Norma is also mourned by three sisters, Shirley (Marion) Wenzel of Elmwood, Eleanor Stratton of Lincoln, and Maxine (George) Buell of Lincoln. Nieces, nephews and many friends will also remember this incredible lady. Her energy, work and efforts on behalf of others will be greatly missed. A remembrance service will be held on Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at 2 p.m. at the Elmwood Christian Church, 311 North 5th Street, Elmwood. Hammons Family Funeral Services, 132 N 4th Street, Elmwood.
