Read More	Norma Stanfield, 87, of San Benito, TX, and formerly of Nevada, Iowa, died Wednesday, September 2, 2015, at Parkridge Specialty Care in Pleasant Hill. Services are pending at Ryan Funeral Home in Nevada. Born December 5, 1927, in Ames, Iowa, Norma Marguerite Stanfield was the daughter of Hubert Fay and Laura Marguerite (Eatwell) Kirby. She grew up in Nevada, and graduated from high school in 1946. She was married to Raymond Donald Tendall in 1946, and was blessed with three children: Linda, Keith, and Gail. Ray passed away on February 14, 1958. On July 16, 1959, she and Wallace R. (Hap) Stanfield were wed. Norma was employed with R.L. Donnelly Marketing in Nevada for more than 25 years, retiring on May 1, 1986. She worked in accounting and was responsible for determining postage for P&G samples mailed throughout the United States. She routinely wrote checks amounting to hundreds of thousands of dollars, and made sure they were issued in a timely manner to coincide with shipping schedules. Her position required a detail-oriented professional who could deliver. Norma was that person… dedicated and highly respected. Favorite pastimes before and after retirement included weekend and vacation camping trips with family, fishing trips to Canada, and several special trips with WW II PT Boat survivors and their spouses for their annual reunions. The most memorable was the 35th reunion held on December 7th at Pearl Harbor. Following retirement, Norma and Hap wintered in southern Texas where they made numerous friends in many locations before permanently settling at Fun-N-Sun Resort in San Benito, TX. When they were still able to travel back to Iowa for the summer, a side fishing trip to Louisiana was always part of their itinerary. At Fun-N-Sun, she enjoyed outings with friends, volunteering her time to help at dances, volunteering at the Texas Air Museum in Rio Hondo, and being an active member of the Elks Lodge. Helping others was an important part of Norma’s life, and she was always available to family, friends, and others needing a helping hand. Stitching beautiful counted cross stitch creations was her favorite pastime for many years. She was never satisfied unless it was perfect, and her attention to detail was impeccable. Everyone who was lucky enough to received one was truly blessed. Becoming a great-grandmother was Norma’s biggest desire in later life, and she couldn’t have been more proud to talk about and share photos of “the boys,” Eli and Rowan, including the latest funny story or antic. Following recovery from two strokes occurring in late February, 2015, Norma once again returned to Iowa, but was unable to live independently. Even though her ability to communicate was difficult and she experienced many challenges, having her close provided an opportunity for family and friends to visit and brighten her day. Norma is survived by three children, Linda (Paul) Tendall Larson of Ames, Keith (Cindy) Tendall of Bondurant, and Gail (Jeff) Tendall Marks of Cape Coral, FL; a step-son, Gary Stanfield of Nevada; and a sister, Waneta Kirby Morfey of Hoffman, MN. She was blessed to have five grandchildren, Angela Larson, Mike Larson, Jake Marks, Amanda Marks Mastroianni, and Kelly Tendall Free; three step-grandchildren, Angela Franklin Puckett, Robin Combs Brinkley, and Kristi Combs Rupard; plus five great-grandchildren, Declan, Brogan, and Graeden Free, and Eli and Rowan Marks; and seven step-great-grandchildren, Eli and Gabriel Brinkley, and William, Emily, and Addie Rupard, Joshua and Anna Puckett. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Ray Tendall and Wallace Stanfield; her parents; a step-daughter, Connie Stanfield Franklin; and a step-granddaughter, Tiffany Combs.
