Description	:	Norma Ruth Gamble, 97, of California, MO passed away on Monday, March 28, 2022 at the California Care Ctr. in California, MO. She was born on December 3, 1924 in High Point, MO the daughter of Herman Birdsong and Vivian (Short) Birdsong both of whom preceded her in death. Norma was a graduate of Aurora High School in 1942 and was salutatorian. She was united in marriage on April 5, 1946 to Maurice Gamble whom preceded her in death on April 18, 2004. Read More	Norma Ruth Gamble, 97, of California, MO passed away on Monday, March 28, 2022 at the California Care Ctr. in California, MO. She was born on December 3, 1924 in High Point, MO the daughter of Herman Birdsong and Vivian (Short) Birdsong both of whom preceded her in death. Norma was a graduate of Aurora High School in 1942 and was salutatorian. She was united in marriage on April 5, 1946 to Maurice Gamble whom preceded her in death on April 18, 2004. Norma worked as a secretary for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company where she retired from in 1980. She loved singing and was a member of the Baptist Faith. Norma moved from the California area to Southwest Missouri in 1971 and was honored in 1993 for volunteer work at the Aurora Missouri Community Hospital where she had been a volunteer for twelve years, then she moved to Texas in 1994. Survivors include three nieces, Betty Kueffer of California, MO, Sandy Allee of California, MO, Nancy Long of Phoenix, AZ; loving grandnieces, grandnephews and family. She is preceded in death by one son Ronald Gamble and one sister Nina Williamson. Visitation will be held on Friday, April 1, 2022 from 10:00 A.M. – 11:00 A.M. with a funeral service immediately following at 11:00 A.M. all at Bowlin Cantriel Funeral Home. Officiating will be Bro. Eddie Schoeneberg. Burial will be at Gamble Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to St. Jude's Children's Hospital c/o the funeral home.
