She was born to Henry and Snow Bissell Carter at Umpire, Arkansas, on November 26, 1928. She attended the United Methodist Church of Gillham. She was a nurse as well as a homemaker. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, cooking, and gardening, and taking care of her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings, Billye Jean Baker and James Donald Carter, a son, Danny Goss, and on Feb. 12th, her husband of over 65... She was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings, Billye Jean Baker and James Donald Carter, a son, Danny Goss, and on Feb. 12th, her husband of over 65 years, Leon Goss. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Donna Elaine and Don Bradley of De Queen, three grandchildren and their spouses, Todd Earney, Chad and Chayla Earney all of De Queen, and Christin and Adam Lites of Horatio, four great-grandchildren, Hunter and Cole Earney and Blake and Faith Lites. Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Ruth Goss will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, March 6th In the Witherspoon Cemetery, Vandervoort, Ark., with Rev. David Williams officiating, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen.
