Description	:	LEEDHAM, NORMAN EDWARD Norman Leedham passed away peacefully at Errinrung Nursing Home in Thornbury on Sunday, March 9, 2014, at the age of 87. He was born on April 10, 1926, in the Swansea District of Toronto. He was the eldest child of the late Thomas and Bertha (née Coe) Leedham. Norm attended Western Technical School in Toronto, and upon completion he joined the Royal Canadian Navy in 1943 and served until the end of WWII. Read More	LEEDHAM, NORMAN EDWARD Norman Leedham passed away peacefully at Errinrung Nursing Home in Thornbury on Sunday, March 9, 2014, at the age of 87. He was born on April 10, 1926, in the Swansea District of Toronto. He was the eldest child of the late Thomas and Bertha (née Coe) Leedham. Norm attended Western Technical School in Toronto, and upon completion he joined the Royal Canadian Navy in 1943 and served until the end of WWII. Post war, he took his apprenticeship at Stelco Swansea Works and learned his trade as a tool and die maker. In 1950 he and his business partner founded Leeson & Baxter Ltd. which he successfully owned and operated for more than 40 years until his retirement. After retirement Norm took up permanent residence on the shore of Georgian Bay in Craigleith. His favorite pastime was fishing. He also enjoyed spending winters in Okeechobee, Florida. He took up woodcarving and became quite accomplished; his work was always in demand. As a member of the Rotary Club he loved the camaraderie, the kibitzing, but most importantly being able to give back to the community. Left to celebrate his memory, his wife Doris Leona 'Lee' Leedham of Thornbury, He will be fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews and their families. Norm was predeceased by his sister Joyce Chaulk in 2008 and his stepmother Isabel in 1999. Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Norm's Life will take place at a later date this year. As your expression of sympathy, donations to the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated.
