Funeral services were held on Wednesday, April 23, 2008 at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel with Reverend Stacey Gerhart officiating. Burial followed at Memorial Park Cemetery. Read More	Norman Huebner, 70, of Sioux City, passed away at his home on Saturday, April 19, 2008 surrounded by his family. Honor guard will be performed by the V.F.W. Post #915 from Elk Point, SD. Norman was born on December 11, 1937 in rural Alcester, SD, to August C. and Anna M. (Vanderham) Huebner. He grew up in the Elk Point and Akron area where he graduated from Akron High School in 1957. Within a couple of days from graduation, Norman enlisted into the United States Army. He was honorably discharged in 1964. On January 27, 1961, Norman married Norma Chamberlain in Elk Point, SD. After their marriage he worked at Dividend Gas Station. He then worked at Electro Magic in Yankton, SD, where they manufactured steam cleaners; it was at this time the couple also bought a farm. Then in 1966 Norman and Norma moved to Sioux City, where he worked at IBP for 17 years, it was while he was working at IBP that he got his nickname "Stormin Norman". Later when the couple bought the bar in Elk Point they named it Stormin Norm's. After he left IBP Norm worked at Thermal Bond for 2 years, he then went on to work at Argosy Casino where he worked for the last 13 years. He was named employee of the year in 1997 which he was very proud of. Norman enjoyed the outdoors very much, he loved to fish in Minnesota, South Dakota and even Canada. He also went Mule Deer hunting in Western Nebraska. But his love for his children and grandchildren meant even more. He made sure he would attend all of his grandchildren's activities. He was a member of the Eagles Lodge in South Sioux City, and the V.F.W. Post #915 in Elk Point. Norman is survived by his wife of 47 years, Norma of Sioux City, daughters, Kim Juzek and husband Kevin of Sioux City, Kathy Larson and husband Jim of Shenandoah, IA, a son, Kevin Huebner and his wife Shelly of Hinton, IA, 8 grandchildren, Russell Baum and wife Amanda, Mitchel Juzek, Ranae Larson, Tyler Larson, Mitchell Larson, Kelsie Huebner, Mallorie Huebner and Ethen Huebner. 2 brothers, Melvin Huebner and his fiancé Pat and Richard Huebner and wife Franny both of Akron, IA. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother Edwin. Serving, as casket bearers will be Kevin Huebner, Russell Baum, Jim Larson, Mike Huebner, Marvin Huebner and Lance Hays. Honorary casket bearers will be Mitchell Larson, Tyler Larson, Mitchel Juzek, Ethen Huebner, Jim Kirkpatrick, Tom Hisler, Jerald Chamberlain, David Gibbs, Monroe Gibbs, Dennis Hayes and Marty Johnson.
