Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M. Friday at the Bethany Lutheran Church in Iowa Falls with burial in the Union Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:00 A.M. until time of service on Friday at the church. The Surls Funeral Home of Iowa Falls is in charge of arrangements. Norman was born on January 22, 1933, the son of Henry and Anna Klein Kastendick. He graduated from the Alden High School in 1951. He trained as a Ranger in the U.S. Army at Fort Benning before heading overseas to serve his country in the Korean War from 1953-1955 where he earned a Bronze Star. He also served as head of the Quartermaster Corps during his service there. Norm farmed with his father and worked for the USDA. On June 20, 1958 he was united in marriage to C. Jeanne Campbell at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Alden and moved to the Campbell farm in 1963. He was a direct pay agent for Wellmark BlueCrossBlueShield of Iowa until his retirement. He served on the Ellsworth Municipal Hospital board for 8 1/2 years. But above all his accomplishments, his trust in the Lord Jesus Christ and his desire to be more like Him was the most important thing in his life. He was in fellowship with the Iowa Falls Meeting. Norm is survived by his wife Jeanne of Iowa Falls; a son, Kurt Kastendick and his wife, Rebecca of Overland Park, Kansas and their children Alissa, Andrew and Anna; a daughter, Annelise Saint-Vincent and her husband, Stephen of New Braunfels, Texas and their children Campbell and Oakley; a son, Kent Kastendick and his wife Kelly of Grinnell, Iowa and their children Aleah, Jenae and Tara; a sister Lavonne Hoversten and her husband Duane of Alden and their children; and aunts Edna Sanders and Doris Rieks of Iowa Falls and uncle Augie Kastendieck of Fort Dodge, plus numerous relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Marvin, and his grandparents John and Martha Kastendieck, and Ferdinand and Augusta Klein.
